A PIECE FROM ALEE GARIBAY
Painting is not a means to an end. In my recent series, I let the process surface my images. It is all about the intuitive grasping for form that facilitates flow to intermittently build and melt narratives. I want to capture the feeling of motion, of being suspended mid-flight, like recalling and pausing a moment in time, or a memory. By combining muffled soft-edged forms with the clarity of crystal-like and metal-sharp machine-parts and water droplets, I channel fluctuating states of solidification and sublimation.
